The photographer
About Mike Loerop
I photograph weddings to bring you back to how the day felt, not just how it looked.
Whenever I look back at my own wedding photos, I can still feel that day almost the same as when it happened. That's what I want to give you: photographs that put you right back in the room, not just a record of who was there and what everything looked like.
I care about what happens between the formal moments. The way you look at your mother before the ceremony starts. The table of friends who forgot they were at a wedding. Thirty seconds alone before everyone finds you again. Those are the photographs you'll actually return to in twenty years.
Steady and present throughout the day, I guide when it's useful and step back when it's not, letting moments unfold the way they actually do. My work is rooted in documentary photography, shaped by story rather than posed and arranged, and built to hold up as an honest reflection of the day itself.
I'm based in Charlotte, North Carolina, and I travel throughout the Carolinas and beyond for the right weddings. If you're planning your day here, I'd be honored to document it.
What to expect
Editorial + Documentary
I work in the space between posed and candid. The result is a body of work that feels both intentional and alive.
No hourly tracking
Every package is all-inclusive. There are no timers, no overtime conversations, and no coverage anxiety. Your day runs on its own clock.
Emotion first
Composition serves feeling, not the other way around. I follow what moves rather than arranging what looks good.
One wedding per weekend
Your day receives my full presence and attention. I do not split it.
